Climb On

Climb On

You never know what tomorrow will bring. All you can do is close your eyes and be thankful to open them the next day. You can have intentions, plans, and goals for tomorrow. But inevitably they never go just so. This is a valuable lesson to be learned while your young and we often overlook it as children.

When you were growing up, do you remember those days where you were having a blast, but your parents seemed to be going through hell? You couldn’t tell what they were upset about because you were too busy having fun. Granted, sometimes your fun was at their expense but I’m talking about those times when it wasn’t. The times where they had to deal with responsibilities unknown to your childhood brain. You were flying across the playground while they were getting grounded by responsibility.

The adult of the situation has to take the punches. They have to shoulder the burden for themselves and their children, while the kids go on staying optimistic about tomorrow. I think that becoming an adult is only another step on the staircase of life. It is not the stopping point we all hold it to be.

I believe that the true top floor lies at a place where being an adult and being a child merge seamlessly. Where you are able to go about your days with a childlike sense of hope and optimism, while retaining your adult responsibilities. This place may be hard to get to, and many may not reach its heights. But to be aware of its existence at the top and know that the stresses life brings you as a young adult will only become better with age and experience is a happy stair to be on.

Cheers to the climb.
