Progress

Progress

Changing habits is a hard practice to start. Simple for sure, but quite difficult nonetheless. No one on this earth is perfect and we will all have struggles on our paths.  How can we grow without failure anyways? Often the choices we make are not perfect. And that is OK. Don’t beat yourself up about a wrong choice, at least you’re aware you made it. That means you are most likely aware of what the right choice should be. I know they are new and confusing but follow those choices and I promise good will come of it.

I can’t remember where the exact turning point was for me; I feel it was gradual. I had no “aha moment” I just became fed up with the continual disappointment of myself. I grew tired of depression and found a blog called The Minimalists and this blog led me to another blog Zen Habits and together these two encyclopedias of positive knowledge helped to slowly convince me to live my life more intentionally, by making those small seemingly insignificant choices in the moment.

Today I am still only but a tiny sprout in the soil, reaching for every bit of sunlight I can find. But this sprout is firmly planted with roots of love, compassion for others, and a desire to grow and improve. As long as I continue to water this seed and not those of anger, greed, and self conscience,  I can see myself becoming a great tree of the forest in the future. Providing fresh air and shade for all who need it.
